Autumn leaves

Arriving in Canberra

Michael says: Today we've seen wonderful red and orange and brown and purple autumn leaves. I wish that it was summer because I could go in the swimming pool at the motel. It's sort of cold in Canberra.

The best bit of the day was visiting the National Museum. Susie designed a future vehicle and we watched it zoom around in 3D. The 3D glasses made you feel like you were floating in mid-air.

One week to go!

Seven days and counting until we hit the road.

sunny 23 °C

Today, like most days last week, is technology day. In this case, we're getting the hang of the Netbook. Edwina, named by Susannah, is the posh English lady who speaks out of our GPS and will be our constant companion - "turn right 100 metres". Millions of things to do this week and the list gets longer rather than shorter. We've booked accommodation for the first 3 weeks since it's school hols in 3 states. After that, it's pot luck . . . or camping. The car has been serviced. Forms have been filled in for school. Pets are being farmed out. Only seven more sleeps.
